iProf is the application of the Ministry of National Education that allows both permanent and trainee teachers to consult their administrative file, complete their CV, and track their career. In the Versailles academy, access to this space now goes through the ARENA academic portal, a single entry point to all digital services of the rectorate.
ARENA Versailles: the portal that centralizes access to iProf
Old connection guides often describe direct access to iProf via a dedicated URL. This approach remains technically functional, but since 2024, the Versailles rectorate has directed all staff to the ARENA portal as the main entry point.
ARENA (Access to National and Academic Education Resources) includes professional messaging, iProf, movement management applications, and other tools. By going through ARENA, a single authentication provides access to all these components without having to re-enter credentials each time.

iProf Versailles username and password: composition rules
Connection relies on two elements: a user account and a password. The logic for constructing the username is the same across all academies, but input errors remain the primary cause of blockage.
Building your username
The username consists of the first letter of the first name followed by the last name, all in lowercase and without spaces. For a teacher named Julien Dupont, the username will be “jdupont”.
In case of homonymy (two agents with the same name and initial), the rectorate adds a number next to the name: “jdupont2”. This order number is not automatically communicated. You must contact the rectorate’s management service to obtain it.
The initial password: the NUMEN
Upon first connection, the default password is the NUMEN (National Education Identification Number). It consists of thirteen characters, including four letters that must be entered in uppercase. A common mistake is typing these letters in lowercase, which causes authentication failure.
The NUMEN appears on the appointment or internship decree. Teachers who cannot find this document can request it from their academic management service or via the E-Colibris application.
Changing your password and securing your teacher space
Once the first connection is made with the NUMEN, changing the password is highly recommended. The ministry has strengthened its digital security requirements, reminding of the application of GDPR and the Data Protection Act regarding services related to iProf.
The new password must meet the criteria imposed by the academic system (minimum length, mix of characters). After modification, this new password will be used to access ARENA and, by extension, all applications of the Versailles rectorate.
One point to remember: the iProf messaging system is no longer usable to contact your manager. The rectorate now redirects these exchanges to the email address of the relevant service or to the E-Colibris application. Attempting to send a message via iProf will not generate any response.
iProf connection issues: quick diagnosis
Before seeking IT support, several checks can resolve most blockages.
- Clear the browser’s cache and cookies. Expired ARENA sessions cause redirection loops that prevent the authentication page from displaying.
- Ensure the browser is up to date. Some older versions do not handle security certificates of academic sites correctly, blocking access to the portal.
- Make sure the username contains no spaces, accents, or uppercase letters. The username “jdupont” is not interchangeable with “Jdupont” or “j dupont”.
- Check the entry of the NUMEN: the four letters in uppercase, numbers without confusion between “0” (zero) and “O” (letter).
If the blockage persists after these checks, the password reset procedure can be initiated via the “forgot password” link on the ARENA authentication page. A reset email is sent to the academic messaging system ([email protected]).
